Shaping People, Shaping Business

The AKPsi Story

Alpha Kappa Psi is the first American Professional Business Fraternity to be chartered. It was founded and opened in 1904 at New York University. We have over 250 chapters across the United States and are the only organization to have gone international, with three chapters in the United Kingdom and more along the way. Our members represent some of most highly ranked business schools in the nation. You will not only be joining an elite group of leaders in your community, but also a global community of driven, intelligent and hard-working individuals that will be the future of business.

Today, Alpha Kappa Psi is among the largest national co-ed business professional fraternities in the world, and is located at more than three-fourths of the nation’s top 50 business schools.

The Iota Chapter:

The Iota Chapter was founded in 1915 here at the University of Texas at Austin.  It is one of the oldest and largest chapters.  Over the years Iota has done many things at the business school, including fundraisers, charity events, and professional events.  Members of the chapter have gone on to work for numerous Fortune 500 companies, non-profits, and elsewhere, including law school.

What makes Iota special is the ability its members have to find a wonderful balance between their professional, social, and service lives, and AKPsi helps to develop this.  Iota definitely lives up to the work hard play hard mentality.
