Texas AKY lives by the motto “Work Hard. Play Hard”. StudyBreaks magazine described it perfectly when they said our social calendar is "stout" (July 2010, Page 14). We offer members 1-2 events almost every week.. Safety is always our number one priority and we continuously look for ways to minimize risk while maximizing fun.

Texas-OU Weekend when members and friends take a coach bus to Dallas to watch the Texas Longhorns play the Oklahoma Sooners in the Cotton Bowl is annual favorite. Friday evening we host our alumni at a local watering hole to provide and opportunity to network and reconnect with new members. The bus handles all transportation from Austin and back so you won’t need to worry about catching taxis or walking long distances to park.

Pledge Party at the beginning of the semester gives actives and our initiates a chance to bond with each other in a more relaxed environment than campus. We typically choose from a variety of local venues to host the event and bus all actives, pledges, and friends to and from the location. Don’t be caught without a costume. Active Party at the end of the semester celebrates the initiation of our new members and gives them a chance to thank the actives for their dedication throughout the semester.

Winter Formal/Spring Casual is a great way to close out the end of classes. For formal we will rent out a ballroom at a local resort. Past destinations have included downtown Austin, San Antonio, and the hill country. Our laid back Spring Casual welcomes the summer with a night underneath the stars.

Tailgates occur every home football game at the same location minutes from the Darrel K Royal stadium. Play a game of washers while enjoying a bit of Texas BBQ with thousands of other burnt orange fans. Our members often form seating groups based on classification that guarantee to be a good time.

Parent’s Weekend every fall gives us a chance to honor our parents while showing them what Alpha Kappa Psi and UT is all about.

Boat Parties are a Longhorn favorite regardless of season and give members a chance to enjoy the refreshing waters of Lake Travis.

Alumni Bartabs occur every semester and bring out a huge showing of alumni from all ages. Our fall event in Dallas precedes the TX-OU game. Our spring event in Austin follows our annual Swings for Charity Golf Tournament.

Socials/Mixers fill in the rest of our schedule. Themes and locations add a bit of variety to the mix.
