Recruitment

Iota AKPsi recruits new members in both the Fall and Spring semesters.  Although each semester is different, the events and process is generally pretty standard and goes as follows:

Candidates will most likely hear about recruitment or rush from an information table on campus, an event like Gone to Business, or from friends, or on our website.  From there anyone interested in hearing more information about what Iota AKPsi has to offer is invited to attend an open information session.  We usually hold two of these somewhere in the 2nd or 3rd week of the semester.

Following the info sessions there is a Rush week, where potential new members come out to two to four events and get to know the chapter and express their interest in joining.  Typically the events during the week include one weekend event, such as a football game tailgate, or game watching party, as well as a professional rush event, and a social rush event.  In the past the professional rush has been held in the CBA Hall of Honors at the business school, and potential new members and active members wear business casual and mingle.  Often the social event is held at the Union Bowling Alley, where everyone can socialize and bowl a game or two.

Finally, on the Friday of Rush week candidates are interviewed by the active chapter.  From there candidates will be informed about their status and more information about AKPsi.
